Centripetal "habits" the “key” for Mr Venizelos...

Posted in the Greek blogs 17/ March/ 2012 & (in Greek text 16-17/ March/ 2012)   Talking with my friends from all over Greece, from Chania and Heraklion to Kastoria and Alexandroupolis, who almost as a rule have voted PASOK in most elections since 1993 when Professor Venizelos was elected for the first time to Parliament and up to the 2009 national elections, a somewhat strange, but certainly “original script” started to take shape in my mind, concerning the days following Sunday’s internal voting for election of the new chairman for the party of PASOK...Most of my interlocutors believe that Mr Venizelos will play the role of a "magnet" for the return to the Party for the bitterness, anger and frustration riddled voters of PASOK under the leadership of Mr Papandreou. Those sentiments were intensified after May 2010 and the approval of the First Memorandum which brought the Troika to Greece and their depth, breath and intensity has been reflected in ALL polls held and published in recent months!

Συζητώντας με φίλους μου από ΟΛΗ την Ελλάδα, από Χανιά και Ηράκλειο μέχρι Καστοριά και Αλεξανδρούπολη, οι οποίοι κατά κανόνα σχεδόν ψήφισαν ΠΑΣΟΚ στις περισσότερες από τις εκλογικές αναμετρήσεις από το 1993 που ο κ Βενιζέλος εκλέχτηκε για πρώτη φορά στη Βουλή μέχρι το 2009 αρχίζω να σχηματίζω ένα «πρωτότυπο σενάριο» για την επομένη των εσωκομματικών εκλογών της Κυριακής στο ΠΑΣΟΚ.

The much discussed "haircut" of Greek bonds (PSI) came to end and was followed by publicly expressed exuberant statements by both professor Venizelos (the SINGLE and favourite candidate for the Chairmanship of PASOK who will most probably be voted into office with a very large majority) and by Dr Papademos, while Greek public opinion was utterly impressed with the deafening SILENCE of Mr Samaras(How are your "renegotiations" going Mr Samaras?)

Έκλεισε το πολυσυζητημένο «κούρεμα» ελληνικών ομολόγων (PSI) και ακολούθησαν οι ΠΑΝΗΓΥΡΙΚΕΣ δηλώσεις των κκ Βενιζέλου (φαβορί πλέον ως ΜΟΝΑΔΙΚΟΥ υποψηφίου ίσως και με μεγάλα ποσοστά επόμενου προέδρου του ΠΑΣΟΚ) και Παπαδήμου, ενώ ΕΝΤΥΠΩΣΙΑΣΕ με την εκκωφαντική του ΣΙΩΠΗ ο κ Σαμαράς!….(Πώς πάνε οι «αναδιαπραγματεύσεις» κ Σαμαρά;)

Ρούχα μαζί που πλύθηκαν και έχουνε γίνει…ροζ!..

Ψάχνοντας για τίτλο θυμήθηκα τον στίχο από το γνωστό τραγούδι του συμπατριώτη μου Γιάννη Μηλιώκα (πρώτη εκτέλεση Γιάννης Μηλιώκας - Αφροδίτη Μάνου μετά  Αλεξίου - Πάριος) και τον χρησιμοποιώ, χωρίς να ζητήσω άδεια:

«…Πόσο άλλαξες πόσο άλλαξα/τα όνειρά μου κόκκινα/τα όνειρά μου άσπρα/ρούχα μαζί που πλύθηκαν κι έχουνε γίνει ροζ…»

   Searching for a title for this article I suddenly recalled the verse from the song of my compatriote Giannis Miliokas (first performance Giannis Miliokas-Afrodite Manou and then Alexiou-Parios) and I am using it without asking his permission:

 "... How you changed, how I changed / my dreams red / my dreams white/ clothes washed together and turned pink ..."

Γιορτάζοντας την «Ημέρα της γυναίκας»

Την «ημέρα της γυναίκας» (εξαιρώντας την «Ημέρα της Μητέρας» και την κατά το μισό γυναικεία γιορτή της Ημέρας του Αγίου Βαλεντίνου) την γιορτάζουμε σε παγκόσμιο επίπεδο κάθε χρόνο στις  8^η Μαρτίου.

One “bravo” doesn’t… hurt!..

The title of this brief article does not conceal any irony whatsoever but originates in the need I felt the to say "bravo" to the appropriate people after reading the letter I received from The Ministry of Economics announcing a Census for ALL of us retired State and Public employees. We are asked to appear in person with this letter and an official identity card or a passport to the personnel of the Bank where the Government deposits each month our pension payment...

Ο τίτλος μου δεν υποκρύπτει καμία διάθεση ειρωνείας αλλά ειλικρινά αισθάνθηκα την ανάγκη να πω ένα «μπράβο» στους αρμόδιους αφού διάβασα τη σχετική επιστολή με την οποία το Υπουργείο Οικονομικών ζητά (ΑΠΟΓΡΑΦΙΚΑ) από ΟΛΟΥΣ εμάς τους συνταξιούχους του Δημοσίου να παρουσιαστούμε ΑΥΤΟΠΡΟΣΩΠΩΣ έχοντας στα χέρια μας την συγκεκριμένη επιστολή και ταυτότητα ή διαβατήριο στην Τράπεζα όπου κατατίθεται η μηνιαία μας σύνταξη…
